I haven’t done a “personal” update for some time now, so I thought I’d briefly brush over our recent lives. The photo you can see on the left is the current state of our new house that is being built in the new Dickens Quarter development in Portsmouth. As you can see it is coming along well, and the estimated completion date is currently the end of April. It’s exciting to see it come so far and we simply can’t wait to make it our own lovely home.

On the Freyja side of things, she’s drawing close to 10 months old now and is coming on leaps and bounds. She can make “red indian” noises (patting her mouth and making noise), walk around standing up and holding the furniture, put balls into the “learn and sort” helicopter toy I got her for Yule, crawl around on hands and knees with quite a pace, wave, throw tantrums and all sorts of other bits and pieces.

She’s truly a joy and makes me a very proud parent. She also eats us out of house and home, typically getting through a bowl of porridge and yoghurt for breakfast, a slice of bread with topping and a yoghurt and biscuit for lunch, a snack mid-afternoon, and a bowl of healthy home-made food followed usually by 2 or 3 yoghurts. As you can probably tell, she likes yoghurts, but there’s nothing wrong with that as they’re a good source of calcium as Hannah’s milk starts to deplete.

In other news, it’s Hannah’s birthday soon, so if you haven’t been invited (on Facebook of course…) and you think you should be, get in touch.

A guy called David Otton contacted me today with regards to a list he’s got of PHP Developers in Portsmouth. It’s kind of wierd that I made it onto the list of this sorts, but I suppose thats what I am – a PHP developer… in the Portsmouth area… I suppose I just didn’t expect anyone to read this blog. I know not many people do, but I’m not in it for fame and fortune… just to write stuff down I suppose. Anyway, check out the list, there’s some interesting sites there.

  • Could not apply the XSL transform to the file, probably because the file was not valid XML or because the remote server returned an unexpected error instead of the requested page.

It has a full wordwide digital release on Monday (12th May) and all proceeds go to charity so please buy it when it’s out. Until then, you can have a listen over here: www.myspace.com/abidepompey

It will be available to download from popular download sites such as iTunes, Napster and HMV. The proceeds go to local charities Tom Prince Cancer Trust, Oakley Waterman Caravan Foundation and Second Chance. Even if you don’t like the song, please buy it as it’s a worthy cause!

So Frosthold started recording on 19th Jan 2008, initially in the Old Blacksmith’s Studio in Portsmouth. We currently have drums and bass tracks down and recorded, although I haven’t heard it myself, apparently sounding good. Next step is guitars then vocals! I can’t really give much of a “studio blog” as I wasn’t there of course, I was in Durham…

Just a little venting of fustration here, but parking in Portsmouth is so bad. Most of the roads are permit holder only (2 hours free parking normally). My girlfriend has had 3 parking tickets recently, she comes to stay at mine quite a lot. One could go to the parking office near the city centre and get these 24-hour permits, but there’s the fustration of getting there. I work office hours, and the parking office is open office hours, which makes it difficult to actually get down there. I can’t even get down there to get my resident permit (even though I don’t really need it as I am lucky enough to have allocated parking). Now I understand that the city council is trying to aim the parking towards residents – but what about visitors? One of my band mates had several parking tickets over my time of living in Portsmouth, and it’s just fustrating.
