As far as I can make out, there are three that I could get, two are expensive, and the other appears to be pretty hard to find…

The Star L85A2 and G&G L85A2 are the expensive ones. There have been rumours that the G&G is a bit unreliable, but it does have a cool automatic blowback feature (which I don’t know if the Star version has). The Star version, I hear, is a very solid weapon, and fits the SUSAT (Sight Unit Small Arms, Trilux), unlike the G&G which you have to file. All very good, but these guns are upwards of £350…

I did a little more research and for some time ICS have been developing their own L85A2 (pictured above). Supposedly it is released now and available to buy for £285. It’s cheaper, and a lot newer. I might wait a little while for some reviews to appear…

I’ve been looking at various airsoft guns again as I’ve been wanting a second (or third if you count the SOCOM) gun for some time now. I’ve been in two minds, between an AK47, or an MP5. I think I’m leaning towards the MP5, I’ve seen a nice CA metal MP5 (see here). It’s a pretty gun, fixed stock, tactical light, and of course, it has the high quality build of most CA guns I’ve seen.

The only drawback of course, is that it’s £280 inc VAT, and I have £0 to spend on it… doh!

Edit: I’ve just seen this one, which is just £215, but is just a silenced version instead of one with tac’ light…

Edit 2: I’ve seen the cheapest so far, a CA MP5 A4 for £199.99! Now all I need is a penny shy of £200…

Rather excited to start, I went in a few days ago to meet the guys (and gals) there, they all seem pretty cool, so hopefully I’ll fit right in.

I went airsofting at UCAP for the first time in ages on Wednesday, it was nice to play again, except I did get utterly sprayed when a guy came round the corner all guns blazing… I now have a bruise on my chin, but it’s covered by my big beard. Matt was down there also for the first time in even longer, but thats because he’s got a little one to worry about! Congratulations to him and whatnot.

Signing out now, ta ta for now.

I’m sitting in the Deco on my new laptop, well not really new, and it’s not really mine, it’s Hannahs, but it’s mine now. As some of you will probably know I’m ridiculously poor due to work messing up my pay, but after several telephone calls I’ve managed to sort it out, but I’m not gonna get paid til next month. So I’m really poor this month, really really poor. Hannah should be moving in soon which will be awesome, but the money problem is really dragging me down at the moment. I can’t even afford to go Airsofting which is like my favouritest hobby ever (apart from being with Hannah ). Hopefully I’ll have money next Wednesday so I can go to UCAP, but I don’t hold out much hope for now.

I’ve always been bad with money but it’s getting worse and worse. Tomorrow I’m ringing some debt cancellation people to get a debt recovery loan or something, I don’t fully understand it, I just see it as a loan that goes longer than a normal loan and gives me money to get me out of my trouble. We were hoping Han’s loan would go through on Friday, but it was a no-show so looks like I’ll have to get this debt recovery loan.

I’ve not updated my blog for a long time, noted, but I’ve been sitting at home mostly and trying to sort out all my life’s problems. I’ll get there eventually and it’ll all be better eventually, it’s just wading through all the crap gets tedious and annoying.

The band had a bit of an argument about money today, I’ve always held the belief that I don’t care if we don’t get paid for gigs and stuff, but Chris believes that we should get reimbursed for petrol and Phil thinks we should get food. I tried explaining that the Wakefield gig next weekend is more of an excuse to go and hang with friends rather than a bog standard gig, and either way, I don’t care about getting payment for gigs because I do it for fun. Bloody students, eh?

Anyway, my fingers are end. Farewell.

So it’s been a few days since I last posted, I was a bit ill over the weekend, but fine now. I’ve noticed myself listening to Emperor a lot recently, as some of you may know, I go through cyclic phases of loving a particular band, and it seems this time it’s Emperor (for the umpteenth time).

In other news, I’ve started a new mindset of mine which aims to get me up on time every morning in time for work. Monday was a miserable failure, possibly due to the journey back from Durham on Sunday night. However, yesterday and today I’m proud to say I wasn’t late (apart from traffic reasons). I also have been keeping the state of the flat in check – washing, dishes, hoovering (thanks to Hannah) and all! I feel like I’m pulling the reigns back on my life again after it got a little out of control.

The main thing I need to concentrate on now is sorting out my money situation. As most of you know, I’m on a pretty damn good salary for a 21-year-old, but those of you who know me better know that I like to spend alot. I’ve got to budget properly, and stick to it. I’m not going to do it in MS Money, because I just can’t get to grips with that budgeting feature, I’m going to do it in OpenOffice.org Calc and just compare the figures from MS Money of my actual spending. That way I can lay it out how I want. I can (for now) hide some of my guilt from debt in the solice that everyone else has money troubles in January, but I really do need to sort money out.

Airsoft is on again tonight at UCAP, and it’ll be the first time using the TM Mk23 SOCOM I’m buying from Glenn in the tunnels. I’ll post some pictures up soon when I get around to taking some! It’s a fantastic gun, and because Glenn is awesome, he’s giving me an awesome price on it. I’ll also post some pictures of Durham when I have a chance taken by Stretch at NSC.

After a bit of a slow start as the marshalls were trying out a new game on us, we eventually got into full swing with a prison break. After that, marshalls got us going on the new game but slightly modified, but unfortunately not all went to play so we had to try it quite a few times. But then that is what Wednesdays are supposed to be – a bit of a social night, and a night to try out new games. After that we did a bomb the research lab with a twist (a doorbell which triggers a thermo explosion) which was quite fun, and at this point Hannah finally cheered up as she started killing people.

So this is something I’ve been ranting to a lot of folks about – my new gun. Above you will see the beautiful pictures I took all by myself.

The gun is a Classic Army M15A4 (based on the M4A1) R.I.S. Carbine. I have attached a Red/Green aimpoint dot sight, and a G&P tactical light. The PEQ box has a big battery which I like. I ‘ve not had it chrono’d yet, but it should be under 330fps. In addition, I have 6 mid-cap magazines (130 each) and the hi-cap that came with the gun itself. I also have a spangly (dis)charger which works in my car as well as plugged into a wall.

I’m very proud of it. I’ll be using it at UCAP tonight. Thermal barracks night!

Oh – and on a side note – is that how you spell Thermal barracks? I’ve seen it as “Thermo-barracks”, “thermo-baraks” and whatnot, so I just wondered what the actual name is.
